My name is Luca Coppola and my nickname is “Coppolone” probably because I’m 2 meters tall
I was born in 1989 in Grosseto, a city in Tuscany 1 hour by car from Siena.
Since I was 10 I started to travel to United States in different locations Miami, Chicago, Seattle etc..
Watching a new world starting at that age helped me a lot to be focused on what was technology and how it was growing fast. I was really impressed in how much the Americans were using internet. In Italy at that time it wasn’t that popular, I think there weren’t even the ADSL connection.
So at age of 13 thanks to one of my high school professor I started to study HTML and CSS. I built my first website that year, it was a tennis website called tennisteen.it. It shortly became one of the most famous website in my country because during the development I also began to study PHP. I added a forum to the website and people started discussing about tennis players, tournament, results and gossip.
That was really amazing, even now that I’m not working anymore on that project, it’s still on top of tennis news website ranking in Italy.
This is a real example of how a passion can become a job. After I graduated from high school I started to work for a small company in my birthplace but to make the big step I needed to move in a bigger reality. That’s why now I’m Rome and I’m working for 3 years for Beqube Srl.
It’s a great place to work, the mentality is very similar to the american companies. I work in a lot of projects and each of which is on different platform. That’s why I’m learning to use a lot of different solutions to create website.
Together with my job in Beqube I develop website as freelancer. You can see all the projects in my portfolio and below you can see my skills.
